Wow, where have i been. Stuck on Facebook, that's where, what with Farmville and Farm Town, as if i don't have enough in real life to do. Anyway have know got bored with them and spring is right around the corner, time to come out of hibernation i think.

Last thursday saw us at CRUFTS. Minus one Laekenois who 2 days before decided he would go chase a rabbit, only he forgot to stop at the fence which was a bit loose and old, one swollen, scratched to pieces later face and that was his day out at crufts gone.

Still had a good day with Ghia going Best of Breed, so i had the chance to see what that big green carpet was all about.It was a great experience, Ghia went well for her age, still being young to appear in there, she got a bit spooked by the GSD lurching at her but managed to recover.

We were pleased with Scarlet (Belsharose Chianti) who had a 2nd in the post graduate class, Tervuerens, as there were 16 dogs entered. Other results were Gaby 2nd in open, Leon was 5th in Limit dog and Pearl who i have to say was robbed with a 4th in special puppy, Belsharose Chardonnay(Tervueren) won the yearling Bitch class and Belsharose Davy Jones (Groenendael) came 1st in special puppy dog so well done to them and their owners.

I then had another 2 busy days doing discover dogs on saturday and Sunday with the the Laekenois, so by monday was shattered.

Other news, Belsharose Oaklahoma, Malinois, co owned with Angie Reeves has been sweeping the board at almost every show she has been to, far to many to mention here (see her page on website for full details) but consist of one best puppy in show, numerous best puppy and puppy group placings and a couple of best of breeds, all at only 10 months. Lets hope she continues her winning ways this year.

We have had some very exciting matings take place over the last month so we are going to be very busy again soon.Some of the details can be found on the website, will update in full shortly.

Will hopefully be back to updated more regular now the show season is getting going so keep coming back for a look.

Another few weeks have passed, where does the time go to.

Pinky (belsharose Calipso) decided to have a fight with the pony, i left the stable door open slightly and she saw her chance, flew at his legs and decided not to stop, one broken leg later and more money spent at the vets!

Richmond was last Saturday where it was a very pleasant day, sun was shinning, wine was flowing, only thing wrong i wish they would put the rings together for all varieties of Belgians, we were running back and forth half the day. Ghia had best of breed in Laekenois Harry had reserve best dog, they are starting to lose their coats know so do not look their best, Darlington this weekend will be their last big show till crufts so plenty of time to regain their looks!

In Tervueren we rushed in with coral, almost missing the class and she won (maybe i should do it like that all the time)Scarlet and Georgia have also lost their coats so i was pleased to get a 3rd with Georgia and a fifth with scarlet. All in all a very nice day.

We now have pigs,Mary,Bertha and Jemima, the 3 oxford sandy and blacks, they have settled in great and are now eating out of our hands, just got to get them to follow me next.

The new chickens, ducks, 3 turkeys (hopefully for xmas dinner)2 rabbits have all settlet in now so we have a right menagerie at the minute, oh and i forgot we have put some more eggs in the incubator so hopefully we should have some late chicks shortly.

I Forgot to mention Al the alpaca who is a great protector of the sheep and chickens.

The nights are drawing in fast and after our week of summer last week it is now going cold...winter is closing in!!!!! Roll on spring.

Went to a companion dog show today, it gets the pups socialized and gives the kids a chance to do a bit of showing, i took Saphy along as well as she has not been shown since well before the pups were born
We met up with 2 of spirit and Persia's sisters,Yana (left) and Savy (right)

Saphy went like a dream and won the open class and then reserve best in show. Jordan won the junior handling and me and saphy won the adult handling so we had a great day out.

The pups all got on great and i could not believe how they both remembered the kids so well, they were all over them.

Went to the chicken sales on Wednesday and got a bit carried away.
We now have more chickens, another goose,ducks, turkey's and rabbits.

The goose is very friendly and loves to nibble on clothing and hands. watch the video to see him

We have finally located some pigs, can not believe how hard it has been to get a traditional type pig, the breed we have gone for is the oxford sandy and black.

Will be picking them up on Saturday, although its a bit of a trek, we have to go to Dorset to get them which is around 3 1/2 hours away, hope they are worth it!

Thought i should have an update on the blog as its been so long since i have been here, where has the summer gone to, not that we have had much of one in terms of weather.

We have been having a great time at the shows, doing very well, at Wales this week Giorgia took her 2nd cc in Tervuerens, only one more to go, here's hoping, although she is about to throw her coat which is a shame. The Laekenois have been doing extremely well, especially Ghia, she has been best of breed in every show since may, she was shortlisted in the group at working & pastoral breeds and best rare breed pastoral in show, that does not happen very often, then at the BSDA club champ show she had rave reviews, every one loved her on both days(Northern BSD as well) there was an entry of 12 Laekenois that day which i do not think this country has ever seen that many entries before at a champ show, a total entry of 215 Belgian Shepherds.After going best in breed then went RESERVE BEST IN SHOW, all under foreign judges which made the wins even more special.

We have just had the hip score results back for Giorgia who has a 0.0 score, i suppose we should have expected that from her as she would not have possibly tolerated getting a 1!

Heavens knows how we will find a mate who she approves of, (she is very posh)

The Laekenois have all had decent scores as well with Gaby having 5, Ghia, 10 and Haramis, 9.

The Mali pups are coming on well, even though they are very noisy, one goes so the other has to copy. We kept 2 in the end, Persia who is a little star and Spirit who lives up to his name. It will be interesting to see how they finish off.

We have been walking over Kinver edge the last few weeks,one of our local beauty spots full of hills but the views are amazing and it certainly wears the dogs and kids out!

What glorious weather we have had at last.

Went to the Cheshire county show today, wow what a day, Shetland sheepdogs, Jack went best of breed out of over 50 entries, Coral (owned by Pat) went best of breed in Tervuerens and Ghia went best of breed in Laekenios and group 4 in the pastoral group.

Not a bad days showing.Full results will be on web site shortly.

The traffic for this show is unbelievable, so all in all it has been a very long day.

The kids had a great time on the old time fair,and with all the old fire engines and tractors all i keep getting is '' in the olden days '' did we have this and did we have that, like i know, i am not that old!

I found a breed of sheep today that i liked,

called the hebriedeans, all black with horns, might be something to add to our managerie

The pigs made me laugh, we saw a saddleback there that was the biggest pig i have ever seen, might have to rethink what type of pigs we get after seeing her, she was masssive

A future farmer in the making ?

The allotment is coming on well, space has been cleared for the polytunnel, should hopefully be up by the end of the week.

The potatoes and runner beans are looking well.

We have also planted a whole range of veg and fruit.

For the first time in a few years a lot of our apple trees have a good crop on them.

The foal is doing very well and is no longer the ugly duckling. The sheep have settled in well and are not bothered at all by the dogs and noise coming from the kids.

And finally but not least, the mali pups are doing great, still 2 pups waiting for that special home.

Took them down the field for the first time on Tuesday, a bit unsure at first but soon got the hang of it and then there was no stopping them.

Will upload more pictures of them in the next few days on the website.

Where has the time gone to, i hadn't realized it has been so long since last writing on here.

We had a good day at southern counties with the laekenois, with Ghia taking best bitch and best of breed,Gaby had reserve best bitch and Haramis with best dog. At Three counties today there were no classes for laekenois but Ghia had a first in AVNSC junior bitch and reserve best bitch, she then came fourth in the Pet plan junior stakes out of an entry of 45. Cerise and Coral also won their classes in Tervueren.

We had some sheep last week, pedigree Jacobs, i put them in the field with the agility equipment at first until we had time to move it, you should see these sheep run over the A frame, they would give any collie a run for their money, i only need to teach them to jump on command and we may have ''Babe'' in reverse. Talking of pigs, i have finally talked Paul into having some pigs, although they are a lot harder to get hold of than you would think, we have some oxford sandy and blacks on order and are still trying to locate some saddlebacks. Watch this space..

With the allotment coming on in full swing and hopefully the polly tunnel will be up this week we are well on our way to being self sufficient!

The Mali pups are nearly 10 weeks old now and most have gone to their new homes, the time flew by, only 2 bitches left looking for new homes. They are really starting to grow now and can't wait to get them out and about.We took one to the school sports day last week and he took it all in his stride playing in the flower bed and meeting all those children, its a great way to socialize.

I think we have a budding star in Jordan who won every race she was in, and Kai won the egg and spoon race.

We went to see Rhydian (from X factor) last night,his voice is amazing, can't believe anyone can sing like that live, he was brilliant.

Went off to the chicken sales again today and came back with a load of growers again, managed to get some hens this time, white ones, very pretty but they are very aggressive, every time you pick one up it attacks you!

The mali pups are coming on well know and getting bigger by the day, we keep trying to get them in the garden but it has not stopped raining here for about 3 weeks. They did venture out for a few minutes the other day but quickly decided it was far better inside.

WOW What a day we had at Birmingham National champ show, In Tervs, Coral ( Belsharose Chardonnay who belongs to pat Cashmore) had a very good 2nd in a strong class, especially as we have been having a few problems with her she is now coming on great, then Giorgia won limit bitch and to our utmost surprise then went on to win the bitch CC, we were over the moon. We have put a lot of hard work into Giorgia the last 2 years, she is what you may call temperamental, but it all paid off on Saturday, we always new if we could overcome her shyness she would do well as she is such a quality girl. We then went on to have a somewhat rushed but successful day with the Laekenois, with Best dog, best bitch, reserve best bitch and best of breed.

Thursday we had a new addition to the herd with a colt foal being born in the early hours, not planned but gratefully received although i had hoped he may have been a coloured but still.

I went to the chicken sales again this week after an unsuccessful trip there last week to acquire a new cockerel after the fox managed to kill my last one. Last week i bid up to £20 for a Welsummer cock but failed to get him, this week i had more luck and got a beautiful welsummer, he soon settled in but boy does he like to crow.

We managed to hatch out 8 chicks from 15 eggs last week, not a great percentage but you have to start somewhere, they are doing well as are the chicks we brought from the sales, they have now gone outside in the ark until they get bigger.

Strange but chickens are very addictive once you get into them, you get some beautiful marked colours on them and can become quite attached!

The geese have settled in well as well and they seem friendly, not like the ones we used to have , they would chase us out the field.

The fox managed to have a couple of chickens again the other night, practically in front of our eyes, luckily one of the dogs spotted it and chased it off, unfortunately not before he managed to do 3 of them. So off to the chicken sales today ( i don't need much of an excuse). Came back with everything i don't need including 2 geese!

I also brought some young chicks although heavens knows why when i have some due to hatch out tomorrow in the incubator.Still it made the kids happy.

The sun was glorious today with the crops in the fields at their full bloom

The Malinois pups have opened their eyes and are now starting to explore. They are beginning to lose their fat look as well so we can start to see how they are shaping up. Won't be long now before the fun begins!

How fat are these pups!

We have recently changed all the dogs over to a fresh meat and bones diet, don't know if that has anything to do with it but these pups are the fattest i have ever had especially considering there are nine of them.

Their eyes are still not open but they are very active, the pictures seem a bit boring so i thought i would put a few videos on here instead.

The weather was glorious today so our daily bike ride with Gaby & Ghia was even more enjoyable, The 2 Laekenois absolutely love going out like this. The original idea was to get us all fit but they end up pulling me most of the time so i do not get to peddle much. They normally go side by side but paul fancied a bit of fresh air today!

After checking my dates last night i realized i had made a mistake and Zara was due today and not on monday,(wondered why she was panting all day) any way after pacing up and down all night,(Zara not me) she gave birth at 7 am today, by the time the third one arrived she was an old hand at it. By 10 am she had 7 pups and seemed to have finished but then decided to have another 2.
3 males and 6 bitches.
She seems to have taken to motherhood very well. We shall see in the coming days.

We went to the club open show today and had a nice day out up till one point.

We won all the classes with Giorgia, Cerise & Scarlet and had a 2nd with velvet, only the Laekenois to go. As we were in the line up for tervs and the laek's were in the next ring we asked several times if they would wait for us, we were told yeh, no problem. Next thing i know they are calling them in, Thanks a bunch i thought but rushed to get the 3 Laeks out of the car and into the class. Huge mistake and one lesson learned. Having only one class, we were all bunched together and 3 Laekenois rushed is no joke, no one would stand at all they all thought it was very funny and exciting, then to top it all every other variety got to move their dogs as usual, up and down and triangles, what do we get up and down, hardly enough to see a Laeky move, wonder why that was? Hungry maybe! It makes my blood boil when you pay your money but are not taken seriously. Needless to say although we had best of breed with Ghia,(who i moved terribly even if i do say so myself) I could not stand it any longer with Gaby so left the ring, much to every ones shock. But if the judges and stewards can not be bothered to show courtesy then why should they get it back?

The pups are coming on nicely and growing fast now, another one left today for his new home, one more goes in the morning.

I had some new lawn laid again this week

It lasted 2 days before someone snuck on it and ate half of it.

Five new rolls later we shall see how long i can keep this one.

Zara is looking rather big considering she is not due to whelp for over 2 weeks, she is loving all this extra attention, even sleeping on my bed now. She has become very normal since being pregnant, can't quite get used to it.

Friday we were at Crufts to man the Laekenois booth for discover dogs. The dogs were absolutely fantastic and loved all the attention and fuss, i was especially impressed with Haramis as he has only been in the country 3 weeks, he was not bothered by anything.
I managed to sneak off a few times while Callum maned the booth and spend some money on things i don't really need !

Sunday we were back at Crufts again, this time to show. We had a very good day with results as follows, Tervueren we had 3 pups in the first five of the puppy bitch class, Scarlet 2nd, Coral 3rd, Cerise 5th. Adonis was 3rd in puppy dog, Giorgia, 4 th in limit bitch. In Groenendaels Barney had a 2nd in post graduate dog and finally in Laekenois Gaby had a 1st in yearling bitch and then had Reserve Best Bitch.

Pat was very pleased with Barney and Coral as this was her first time at Crufts, so congratulations to her.

Don't know where the time goes to when you are showing there, by the time we had finished showing and caught our breath we just about managed to do a little more shopping.

We were given tickets for best in show and as Callum had nagged us for years to stay for it i decided to let him go and watch it. That was a mistake, i watched it on the big screen but could hardly keep awake, we never left till 9.3o so by the time we got home it was close on 11 0'clock.

Paul then went down to the horses and took the dogs out (they do have their uses after all)every one thought we had gone mad.

It took 2 days to recover, we must be mad? Till the next time!

Where does the time go. Crufts seems to have come round very quickly and as usual i am not ready. we are at discover dogs with the Laekenois on Friday and then back again on Sunday to show. Hopefully i can get a few pictures.

The pups are getting bigger by the day, i missed getting their pictures this weekend as it was Jordan's birthday, we went ice skating for the first time and i surprised myself at being quite good at it.

The next day i was back at the ice rink again for Kai's Friends birthday, he was useless at it and it was all i could do to keep his bum off the floor.

Come Tuesday i was paying for whizzing round the rink, i could hardly move from aching muscles.

I won't be trying that again in a hurry.

Another 2 weeks have passed and guess what, the tonsillitis came back so after another week in bed i am not even gonna mention i may well be better now, lets just say i am fine today!

The pups are now 5 weeks old and starting to come together,
their personalities are shining through, as usual my favorites at the moment are the nutters, Jordan, my daughter likes the one with the pink collar but i think that's because of the colour.

This one made me laugh, we were watching 'BABE' and the pup was transfixed

Spoke to soon about feeling better, have now had a good bout of tonsillitis. Beginning to feel like i will never get better.

The pups are starting to come on now, they had their first taste of food yesterday, the red male took to it like a duck to water, the others quickly followed suit.

Had to do away with the whelping box tonight, they have had enough and kept falling out.

Well the snowman is back only this time he has a blue nose.

you have a bit of snow and the country comes to a halt, here i am enjoying my normal Monday calm after a mad weekend with kids, and what happens the phone wont stop ringing with teachers telling me the kids are on their way home, very much to their delight.

The dogs thought it was great as well, although it has snowed heavy all day so any pictures i took all came out looking like the snow flakes were big bolders. ( I am obviously doing something wrong with the lens)

Can't even tell who this is but they enjoyed any way.

Have had the flu yet again for 2 weeks this time, one week of which i struggled to even get out of bed, i think i may finally be getting better ( dare i say that) so have managed to get a few pictures of the now 2 week old pups, who are doing great at the moment, nice and content. Saphy has been a fantastic mom which is just as well the way i have been feeling, so i have had to do very little up to now. A few more days and the fun should begin.

We had a good day at Manchester on Friday, in Tervuerens, Scarlet won the puppy bitch class and Coral was 2nd, so was Adonis in puppy dog. Barney won the post grad class in AVNSC and then went on to res best dog, Ghia won the junior class in AVNSC and Rare breeds and then Gaby was 3rd in post grad but was only beaten by males so then went on to res best bitch AVNSC, she then had a 1st in post grad Rare breeds and best bitch. It was nice to have a day out for a change, its even better when you win something.

Saturday night Saphy had her babies, 8 of them, not sure where she hid them as she was not very big at all. After the initial shock and a big squeal one popped out on the floor, she looked at it in amazement then decided that maybe it did belong to her after all. The rest followed very quickly, she had them all in just over 2 hours, thankfully they are all big and strong. She is being a wonderful mom to them at the moment and pictures will be on the web site soon

At last we have snow, even if it is only a inch or so at least there was enough for Kai to make his first snowman.

The dogs also had a great time playing in it, alot of them being the first time they have seen snow. For a short moment there Lina thought she was back home in Norway.

Am I glad christmas is out of the way, shopping with every spare moment and then what happens, a week before christmas every one comes down with this horrid bug that seems to have affected every body else in the country. Me and callum had it the worst, with it lasting almost 3 weeks before we were completly well.So most of christmas was ruined with everyone drinking lemsips instead of beer and not wanting to eat anything. Still we must keep smiling? It will be nice to now get back into a routine.
Anyway today made up for it a little bit when we went to Worcestor & Malvern open show and had a fantastic day with results as follows,
In Tervueren, Belsharose Chianti (Scarlet) won 1st in Junior D/B and then went on to Best Puppy and Reserve Best of Breed, Belsharose Chardonnay (Coral) had 2nd in Junior D/B, Belsharose Cote Du Rhone (Adonis) had 2nd in Post Graduate D/B. Then onto Groenendaels where Belsharose Masacio (Barney) had 1st in Post Graduate D/B and then had Best of Breed. Finally the 2 Laekenois were both 1st in AVNSC Junior D/B and Post Graduate D/B with Ghiana D'Eroudur at Belsharose (Ghia) had Best AVNSC, and then Gabrielle D'Eroudur avec Belsharose (Gaby) getting a 2nd in Rare Breeds Post Graduate D/B. And they all showed fantastic so we had a lovely day but i am now shattered so i think its time for bed.

Well its been a while since I last posted, we have been a little busy trying to plan Christmas presents amongst other things, with 5 children we have a bit of a hectic time coming up to it.
Ghia arrived safely from France and has settled in wonderfully, no problems at all. She is very much like Gaby in her ways, I now have 2 Laekenois on my bed, not quite sure how that happened?
Looking through Paul's phone to see what pictures he had taken, i came across a little video that my daughter Jordan had made, not sure what planet she was on but at least you can see how Ghia has settled in.

On Sunday 9th Nov I was at Discover dogs with Leon and Flame, Pat came along with Barney. We had never done this before so it was a bit of an experience. The dogs were all brilliant and loved all the attention. I had planned to take some pictures of the event but the time seemed to go so quickly before we new it the day had gone. At least we got a free royal canin rug out of it. Ghia has took a shine to it and will not move off it.

On Tuesday we went to see Mary Ray give a demonstration on clicker training. I had seen her before but was so impressed I thought I would treat Paul and Callum to a night out, they both thought they would be bored rotten but were very pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, needless to say I ended up coming home with a bagful of clicker training devices.

Snow in October

Wednesday saw snow in October, much to the kids delight, unfortunately it didn't stick, but who knows we may get a white Christmas at this rate.

Some very sad news tonight when my old german shepherd, Rosie passed away due to old age, she would have been 13 in march.

A very strange thing happened later, i had put rosie in the back room until we can bury her tomorrow, one of the other dogs who was close by started barking and cowering up the corner, even though she had been lying there all night, when i looked at the clock it was 12 midnight, 31st october, Halloween.

Makes you wonder!

Lotty , the rescue malinois went to her new home today which left us with mixed emotions as we had grown very fond of her but we are glad she has found a nice home.

Friday we went to Midland counties ch show. All the pups behaved them selves impeccably, apart from Adonis who thought everything on the floor was food and every bag he could get his nose into belonged to him. They all showed great and took it all in their strides.

Paul leaves for france this week to fetch Ghia home, so that should be fun and games.

We went to the shetland Sheepdog club ch show at Godmanchester on saturday, it was a very nice venue with a realy friendly atmosphere, much better than showing Belgians, no stress, no walking on two legs,no noise but still we would miss them if we had'nt got them.Harry and Liar went well for their first show and Jack had 5th in post graduate, which considering the size of the classes we were well pleased with that.

Sunday,Pat went to cheltenham open show and had best puppy and reserve best bitch with coral (Belsharose Chardonnay)

Wednesday night i finaly made it to stafford to obedience class.They have started clicker training classes there which is what i have been looking for,Gaby went in first and was excellent, took to it like a duck to water, next it was Zara's turn to do a bit of agility, she was not amused at first but evetually started to come out of her shell and relax.

We went to smethick companion show on sunday to give the pups a taste of whats to come. It turned out to be well worth going.

Coral had 2nd in puppy,

Adonis had 2nd in junior,

Gaby had 1st in non spoting,

and Giorgia had 2nd in open.

Then to top it all Gaby went

After Lotty 's little adventure last week she settled in almost immediately. She will make someone a fantastic pet. She gets on great with the other dogs and the children, she is also very affectionate. pictures will be posted on here shortly.

Paul went to the club open show last week alone as i have had some kind of flu bug.
Velvet came 1st in post graduate bitch, Leon came 2nd in limit, Barney came 1st in post graduate dog, and Gaby came 2nd in open bitch and reserve best of breed. so not a bad day at all.

I went to Walsall open show today to give a bit of moral support, it was Coral

(Belsharose Chardonnay) and Pat's first show.

At only six months and 1 day, coral took everything in her stride and was not bothered by anything which is more than can be said for pat who could have done with a stiff whiskey. How ever she did very well and after a first AVNSC and best puppy she then went on to get 2nd in the pastoral puppy group. Not bad for their first show.

Leon saves the day

Saturday was a nightmare. Paul went to oxford to pick up a rescue Malinois, bitch. She was a little nervous but otherwise settled in quite nicely. She took an immediate liking to Leon, as you can see on the video, I thought they were doing a bit of tap dancing. All was going so well I decided to take Lotty (as she is known) for a walk over the fields ( on the lead of course) with a couple of the other dogs to help her settle some more. Not the best decision I have ever made, as we stepped out of the gate, the collar broke (you would think I learned my lesson after the episode in France with Gaby).Any way off she went, flat out, within seconds she had disappeared, great start to my job in rescue. We searched every where but having fields every where she could have been anywhere. Around 8 0'clock on the evening I spotted her run across the field, at least we knew she was still around which gave us some hope, however she disappeared almost immediately again,and boy did she pick a good night to run off, the hotel up the road decided to have a disco outside with fireworks, then the helicopters from the airport were out in force and to top that off the neighbours over the road decided to have a firework party as well. Go live in the country for some piece and quite, you must be joking. Around 12 am we decided to check out the front of the house, no luck then as we came back in we saw her in the neighbours drive, we were so close, but no, she took one look at us and of she trotted up the road, luckily we do not have much traffic at night but by the time we got in the car she was gone again. By 2 am we decided There was nothing more we could do but leave some food out back for her and hope she would stay close for the night.

7 am next morning we looked out the window and saw her, knowing she would run off again if we tried to get close, we decided as she had taken a shine to Leon we would let him out into the fields and see if she remembered him, it worked like a treat, their eyes met across the horizon and it must be love, they played together like pups for about twenty minutes then he came trotting back with her.

She has now settled in wonderfully and is a very sweet, loving dog, no aggression just a little nervous at times. She will make someone a fantastic companion, as long as they do not go walking with her on the first day and make sure the collar is strong!

What a glorious day, has summer finaly arrived?

The fields behind our house have at last been cut and baled. It makes walking the dogs so much easier, and as you can see they thought so to.

Best make the most of it before they plough it up again.

We all had a morning at the car boot on sunday, the weather finally picked up with some glorious sunshine. Gaby took a fancy to Kai's ice cream, he was not amused. All the pups took it in their stride even though its the biggest car boot I have ever seen. What sad people we are to spend the morning buying other peoples junk?

Companion Dog Show

The weather held out today for the second day of the boating festival and the companion show that was held there, run by our ringcraft club of which Paul is chaiman.

Callum judged the Junior handling classes.

These two made me laugh in the fancy dress class, in case you don't know they are the Blues Brothers.

Here we have a long haired Akita.

It was a very good turn out and everyone seemed to have a good day despite the ground being a bit of a mud bath.

Netherton Boating Festival

Should have gone to Darlington Ch show today but after last weeks mud at Richmond, I really couldn't be bothered,(although according to the results on Higham Press, we won the junior class with Gaby?) as we are holding a companion dog show tomorrow at Netherton Boating Festival we thought we would

go and check the venue out instead (its a 2 day event.) Its a big gathering of canal boats plus funfair and other attractions. Cerise, Scarlet, Gaby, Zara and Giorgia came along for the day and thoroughly enjoyed their selves with all the attention they received, although we didn't see much of Gaby as Callum went off with her for most of the day, Lisa, my personnel agony aunt, came along and became the puppy walker, as she normally shows Poms, this was a bit of an experience for her, but she took it all in her stride and I think I am half way to convincing her to get a real dog (only joking). As you can see the kids had a great time also, the sun was out in its full glory which seems to be a rare occasion nowadays.So all in all we had a very pleasant day,

lets hope tomorrows weather holds and we get

another great day.

The 'Tour of Britain' bike race went past today, the speed these guys travel is unbelievable and I have never seen so many police.They travel around 160 KM a day in just under 4 hours. They started the race in London last sunday, they then travel through Burnham on Sea, west midlands, up to yorkshire and scotland then back down to liverpool by next sunday, not bad going on a bike!

Ringcraft Training

Just got back from ringcraft training, as you can see from the picture Harry (the sheltie) had worked so hard he needed to chill out in Charlie's arms (Barney's owner). In the other picture Coral is also flaked out. Such a tough life eh.

Richmond Champ show

Well we went to Richmond and boy was it wet, mud every where, we took our waterproofs much to every one's amusement although we had the last laugh when they were all wet and cold and we were snug as a bug in a rug.

Any way the trip was well worth it, in Groenendaels, Leon (Nadjarah's Don Corleone for Belsharose) won open dog, best dog and BEST OF BREED, his daughter Velvet (Belsharose Messina) won Junior bitch and RESERVE BEST BITCH. Then on to Laekenois, Gaby, (Gabrielle D'Eroudur avec Belsharose) won post grad bitch, best bitch and BEST OF BREED, so we had a great day and i would like to say how pleasant it was under the judge, Mrs Eleanor Bothwel, who's happy and courteous manner made it a pleasure to show.

We also recieved our trophy for winning BOB Laekenois at the BSDA club show, which was under going a overhaul at the time.

When we arrived home my daughter, Jordan, thought we had won the world cup.

Just to finish the day off nicely, after arriving home at 10.30pm, paul took the dogs with him to see to the horses, he arrived there at approx 11pm at 12.30am i got a phone call to say he had run out of petrol, so off we go again to tow him home!
